CrossFit

What is CrossFit and Why? CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. We have designed our program to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible.

CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains:

  • Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance
  • Stamina
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Power
  • Speed
  • Coordination
  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Accuracy

The CrossFit Program was developed to enhance an individual’s competency at all physical tasks. Our members are trained to perform successfully at multiple, diverse, and randomized physical challenges. This fitness is demanded of military and police personnel, firefighters, and many sports requiring total or complete physical excellence. CrossFit has proven effective in these arenas.

Aside from the breadth or totality of fitness the CrossFit Program seeks, our program is distinctive, if not unique, in its focus on:

  • Maximizing neuroendocrine response
  • Developing power
  • Cross-training
  • Multiple training modalities
  • Constant training & practice in functional movements
  • Development of successful diet strategies

Our members are trained to bike, run, swim, and row at short, middle, and long distances guaranteeing exposure and competency in each of the three main metabolic pathways. We train our members in gymnastics from rudimentary to advanced movements garnering great capacity at controlling the body both dynamically and statically while maximizing strength to weight ratio and flexibility.

Personal Training

Our Personal Training takes the same ideas we focus on in our group classes (kettlebell training, Olympic lifting, gymnastics, running, rowing, sports training and cardio), with specific focus on your personal needs.

We offer 30 minutes skill training sessions focusing on a specific skill set ( eg. mobility, one of the Olympic lifts, gymnastics). Our 60 minutes includes warm-up, mobility/stretching and coaching through the movements of the day. This is followed by a workout and a cool down. Your coach will be there to ensure proper form, range of motion, and intensity, helping you scale to fit your needs and ability level.

The key difference is the focus on your specific needs and goals. Your program can be customized to suit, and your coach will spend more time on the progressions and movements you need and struggle with.

You May Prefer Personal Training If:

  • Have specific injuries or needs you’d like to address
  • Prefer the accountability a 1:1 coach can provide
  • Have scheduling challenges with our group class
  • Have specific performance goals

CrossFit Endurance

CrossFit Endurance WOD (EWOD) is a program designed to accommodate those who love the intensity of a CrossFit workout but without the barbell movements. EWODS involve such activities as running, rowing, stationary biking, ski ergs, plyometrics and some movements involving sandbags and dumbbells.

These classes are scheduled 3 times per week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They run alongside our main class times. Usually kept between 20 – 30 minutes long; warm-up and cool down segments rounds out the hour. This program is for anyone looking to accelerate weight loss, get lean or prepping for their first 5k, 10k or the Spartan Races.

Nutritional Coaching

THE PYRAMID SAYS IT ALL. NUTRITION IS THE FOUNDATION OF EVERYTHING WE DO.

You can’t out-exercise a bad diet. CrossFit makes you accountable: The workouts are 3x harder if you eat cookies the night before, but we’ve known for YEARS that we could do better. Our Nutrition program (like our CrossFit and Personal Training Programs) combines behavioral change with achievement to create habits that will last a LIFETIME. No shakes, no short-term.

Behold, a teaching program to build life-long skills one step at a time!
